Fort Wayne, Ind. (February 25, 2020) – Amani Family Services will offer new benefits to its employees in 2020. The new benefits include a retirement plan, short-term disability (including paid maternity leave), and vision and dental plans. Amani’s board approved the new benefits and added them to the current list of offerings including medical insurance, an employee assistance program, and flexible schedule. Years ago, employee benefits were a rare advantage in smaller nonprofit organizations but Amani had to adapt to the demands of the market.
“The current work market demands our attention. Amani Family Services is no different from all other types of businesses who are competing to attract and retain talent. What is remarkable is Amani Family Services is a nonprofit organization who is also competing for donors’ attention,” said Irene Paxia, executive director for Amani Family Services. “Talent acquisition and retention are strategic priorities for Amani as we work hard to implement our mission; the pool of bilingual professionals who also have human services and counseling credentials is relatively small.”
As a nonprofit organization, Amani Family Services has many intangible benefits as well. Those benefits include feeling a sense of purpose in their work, being of service by assisting immigrant and refugee clients resettle, and working in an environment committed to teamwork.
About Amani Family Services: The mission of Amani Family Services is to partner with immigrant and refugee families and the community to promote safety, encourage personal growth, and foster a spirit of belonging. Amani is a nonprofit organization serving families from around the world with services, which include child abuse and neglect intervention and prevention, victim care, substance use support, and mental health counseling.
