FORT WAYNE, IN – The Board of Directors of Amani Family Services has been made aware of some misleading communications being circulated about the nonprofit organization that we volunteer to serve. We fear these messages could mischaracterize Amani and distort the public perception of our mission, work, and integrity.
Amani has served Allen County for 20 years with transparency, accountability, and compassion. It has been dedicated to supporting victims of crime, including survivors of human trafficking, and strengthening vulnerable populations through education, advocacy, mental health services and direct support.
Our work is carried out in close coordination with local, state, and federal partners, including law enforcement, healthcare providers, and social service agencies. We operate in full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and are subject to rigorous oversight, audits, and reporting requirements.
Any suggestion that Amani engages in unlawful activity, undermines law enforcement, or operates outside the bounds of its mission is categorically false.
The organization has never received a donation directly from George Soros, and we do not want misleading indications to undermine the public trust and distract from the work being done to address critical issues in our community, including human trafficking prevention and survivor support.
The Board of Directors stands behind Amani Family Services, its staff, and the services provided to our community. We did not want misleading information to go unchallenged when it could threaten the integrity of our mission and the well-being of those we serve.
About Amani Family Services
Amani is the only local organization entirely devoted to promoting the well-being of non-English speaking families through community-based counseling and casework, with the purpose of facilitating the healing of immigrants and refugees who have experienced maltreatment and violence and preventing incidents of family violence. Amani has cared for families since 2006, serving over 2000 individuals and families each year.
Amani is also home to the Naturalization and Legal Assistance (NALA) program and the Welcoming Fort Wayne initiative, expanding its efforts to foster inclusion, belonging, and civic engagement among immigrant and refugee communities.
