What inspired you to join the team here?
Amani is committed to working with underserved communities, which include immigrant and refugee populations. Amani’s mission embodies and fuels my passion for supporting those in need. I am motivated to contribute my skills and work alongside team members who share those values.
What brought you to Fort Wayne, IN?
I lived in Houston before relocating to Fort Wayne to join family and friends.
What is your favorite part of your job?
As a Case Manager in the Family Support Program at Amani, my role is to serve underserved communities by providing mentorship to those in crisis, and identifying, and addressing their unique needs. I facilitate and implement services by working with community partners and stakeholders. It is work that I am passionate about. I enjoy being part of a team that is equally engaged and invested in the mission.
What challenges have you faced in your role or department?
The diverse and evolving needs of the families we encounter often require flexibility, adaptation, and respect for diverse perspectives. With the training we receive at work we are equipped to overcome challenges and to deliver services that ensure that every voice is heard.
What should community members know about Amani?
Community members should know that Amani believes in the strength and potential of each person, and it is deeply committed to creating welcoming spaces where everyone can thrive.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
When I’m not working, you can usually find me reading, travelling, walking for exercise, gardening, and enjoying nature. All these provide me with perspectives that connect me to the world.
What is something not many people know about you?
Many people would be surprised to know that I love to sing and dance! It keeps me happy and energized!
