Examples of Common Estate Gifts Include:
-
This is the most popular and simplest type of gift. This is when you leave a fixed dollar amount, specific assets, or a percentage of your estate to a person or organization. This is typically seen in a Will or Trust.
-
This type of gift is when you name a nonprofit as the beneficiary of your retirement account (IRA or 401k), life insurance policy or another financial instrument.
-
A CGA is considered a ‘life-income arrangement’. It is when a donor sets up a gift to a nonprofit in exchange for a fixed annual income for life. Upon the donor’s passing, the remainer goes to the charity. This type of gift is not as common.
